The Seventh Annual Empty Bowls Event

The seventh annual Empty Bowls was held on March 27, 2017. Chestertown RiverArts Clay Studio and the Garfield Center for the Arts partnered to host this popular community event that raises funds for the Kent County Food Pantry. Artists from the Clay Studio, headed by instructor Marilee Schumann,  created individual beautiful pottery bowls.  Each guest chose a bowl which was then filled with homemade soup.  These bowls are then taken home as a reminder that many people do not have enough food to eat.

The Chestertown ukulele club provided the entertainment.

This event was sponsored in part by the Kent County Arts Council,  Massoniart, the Bookplate, Mimi’s Closet and Peaceful World Enterprise. As a result of all these efforts and the generous people who attended, the pantry receives a very large donation to help continue our work of feeding the hungry.
